‘American Blood’ Registered with BMI
Fans of ‘American Blood’ will be interested to hear that it is now registered with BMI along with the songs Bo already had registered there, and the new album tracks.
BMI is a performing right organization - this means that it collects license fees on behalf of members and distributes them as royalties. There is no point in registering a song with BMI unless it has been released or you expect it to be released in some form or another.
Here’s Bo’s current list of registered songs:
1. AIN T GONNA DIE 9142790
2. AMERICAN BLOOD 9142798
3. CHANGING FOR THE BETTER 7858854
4. CINNAMON AND NOVACAINE 8338403
5. GOT MONEY 9142782
6. I M GONE 9142780
7. IT S MY LIFE 7929185
8. ONLY WORDS 9036684
9. SEE THE LIGHT 9142784
10. SINNER IN A SIN 8336154
11. TAKE THE COUNTRY OUTTA ME 9142779
12. THIS TRAIN 9142789
13. TOMBSTONES DON T TALK BACK 8338402
14. VALLEY OF ANGELS 7929186
15. WHISKEY WOMEN AND TIME 8336145
16. WILL YOU WAIT FOR ME 7915514
17. WITNESS 9142778
So you’ll notice that Lonely Man is missing from the list below, suggesting it won’t appear any time soon (*sheds quiet tear*) but American Blood is right there. In black and white, baby!
If I were a gambler, I’d say we’ll be seeing that song sooner rather than later. But where and how? That remains a myst-o-rreee.
Thanks sjohnston for the heads up

Oh YES! Maybe “bonus” tracks for us later?? That’d be awesome. Anyway, I hope it’s available soon.

Yea!!! I sure hope it turns up soon …because it is truely IMO a signature song…I don’t believe I have ever heard “Will you wait for me?” Have I??

“Will You Wait for Me” was a song Bo co-wrote with a few of the writers RCA hired for TRT. He would have registered it so that if they ever use it for someone else he’ll get his royalties.
I remember they once played a snippet on a Fox News piece about the recording of TRT (before it came out.) I guess it was one of the many songs Bo recorded that didn’t make TRT.

Isn’t “Will You Wait for Me” the one Bo seemed to really love (and from the snippet we did too) and wanted to work more on in the clip we saw?
I didn’t know that’s what BMI was. I guess I just figured it was like a copyright thing.

Forgot, so happy to see “American Blood” there. Hopefully we hear “Lonely Man” again. I think we will. I loved it on the acoustic tour. Yeah, I know, I love everything he does, so sue me. ;-)

I hate to be a downer, but maybe Bo was planning on putting it on the cd and registered it and then Walmart asked that it be removed when he signed the exclusive deal. Seems I heard they have some input on the cds they have exclusives with. Just wondering since originally the cd was going to be called AB and then not.

suedel, I don’t think that was “Will You Wait For Me” … I’ve forgotten what it was called. I know the one you mean - lots of people liked it.

I think the song people got excited about was “If You Only Knew.”

Damn all this intrigue. What will we find out in the next 5 minutes. Love it!!

Not real thrilled with seeing CFTB registered. Fingers crossed for AB appearing someplace soon.
I want to hear Will You Wait For Me. Sounds like it could be a lovely ballad or just a song that Bo could break your heart singing.
Of course I’ll wait for you, Bo.

It wasn’t a ballad StandybyBo - it was a pop song like the other songs on TRT.

All I can say is WOO-HOO for American Blood. I’ll just stand by and wait to see where it shows up.

Will You Wait For Me was from the 2 day report fox 6 did. His 30th birthday. I love this song.

Another pop song like the rest of TRT? I think I’ll take a past on it then.

I just bet Bo already has a plan for AB. Maybe he didn’t want 2 Chris Tompkins songs (I’m Gone) on one cd.
Why in the world would Bo have had that huge art contest for the tentative title of American Blood, only to drop it completely? It just doesn’t make sense. IMO, AB will be out there sooner, rather than later.
