Bo Bice’s album due out October 23
Bo Bice’s management just announced on BoBice.com that Bo’s CD is now due out October 23. Probably not so coincidentally, that’s also when Carrie Underwood’s sophomore CD is due to drop.
The album title is also set to change from American Blood to something else, maybe I’m Sorry I Haven’t Played in Washington State Yet, But I’ll Be There Soon.

Yay for an official release date!! Sorrow at the loss of American Blood as a title.

Hot damn! That’s a great date. Yay for October 23rd!
August 20th, 2007 at 2:34 pm
So do we get the official count-down clock back??
August 20th, 2007 at 2:45 pm
Yea! I guess I’m going to have to get used to waiting…I’m happy but man this reminds me of being Pregnant. Wonder what the new title will be?
August 20th, 2007 at 2:57 pm
I’m so glad we heard something and I so want what’s best for him.

Gerat news!! Oct. 23rd–is that your birthday, Jenn?
I like SEE THE LIGHT for the title if Bo decides not to go with ThreeD’s suggestion.
August 20th, 2007 at 3:43 pm
Yeah - that is my birthday. I wonder what the new title will be, too - how about “Happy Birthday, Chris”? - lol.
I hope some dates start popping up now that we have an official date and once the new title is announced.

Well, this deserves a big YEAH!!!!
I can’t wait. I would love it too if the title were changed to SEE THE LIGHT.
It will be fun to speculate and then see what they decide on!

I really like when the title isn’t obvious. I’d love something like “Brand New Meaning” or “Beauty’s in the Stone” but I’m thinking “See the Light’ is most likely.

I’m also sorry that AB won’t be the title. However, I’m thrilled Oct. 23rd is the new release date. It’ll give Bo & his team more time to promote it well. It’s also very close to my birthday and so it’ll be an excellent present to myself!
August 20th, 2007 at 5:14 pm
WooHoo! I’m one happy camper! “See the Light” seems to be the next obvious choice. I’m just excited to be excited all over again at the release of the CD, even if I have to wait a few more weeks. Enough extra time to save up more moolah for Bo CD’s! Yayyyy!!!!
August 20th, 2007 at 5:19 pm
Well then, lulu, I’m guessing you don’t like “I’m Sorry I Haven’t Played in Washington State Yet, But I’ll Be There Soon” either. It is soooo obvious.
August 20th, 2007 at 5:23 pm
I liked AB as a title, but I wasn’t sure I liked it with a Sept. release. Now both problems are solved. The release date same as CU has +/- as well. Yes, maybe the publicity is good but it also brings him back to Idol again. So, I’m kind of mixed on that. But great to hear some news - and to see the applicants thanked for their submissions to the contest.

Why is everyone happy. If Carrie’s cd is coming out that time don’t you think maybe they will compare sale again on both cd’s. I don’t see this as a good thing.
August 20th, 2007 at 5:52 pm
Maybe the music critics will just compare the music and not the sales. One can at least hope. I don’t fear that comparison.
August 20th, 2007 at 6:21 pm
I’m just glad there is a firm date, although now I have to wait ANOTHER month. Maybe this time around we will get a single and some promotion to keep us occupied. I agree same day as Carrie has plus/minuses. If they compare the music and not the numbers I will be happy. Maybe Carrie’s fans will buy both? For a cd name I just like BO BICE so people can find it easily in the stores. Come on Bo release a single already!
August 20th, 2007 at 6:31 pm
kathyp64, any comparison would be made anyway. The reason I’m so happy is that Bo will get lots of extra PR and free media just because his CD is the same date. Sales comparisons DO NOT MATTER as far as I am concerned. If this is a sales contest, Carrie won - hands down - game over. But most people have no concept of sales numbers. They just buy CDs if they like them. If Bo’s name crops up more because of this release date, he will sell more CDs than he would otherwise have done. Carrie is irrelevant. She’s going to sell 10 bazillion albums in the first 5 minutes and beat Bo. It doesn’t matter! What matters is the music and how many people hear about Bo’s CD.

I totally agree. Bo’s album will be compared to Carrie’s no matter when they are released. So why not embrace it, and even work it? Bo’s got peeps of steel, and marketers with savvy.

Jennheifer has uncovered yet another excellent CD title: Peeps of Steel

OMG. My heart skipped a bit the moment I saw that box with the date of release. I want to shout at the top of my lungs but I’m in the office buried with paper work (which is good so they can’t see me).
So all I can say is EEEEEEEE!!! What are you guys talking about? I haven’t visited the forum yet. Are there dancing bananas? I’m just EEEEEEEEEEEEeeing here! EEEEEEE!!! *thud*
August 20th, 2007 at 7:32 pm
I dont’ care about Carrie’s sales because while they will be both compared because they are both Idol alumni, it’s the content and target audience that really matters for me. Bo has his fans, Carrie has hers. They have common fans. But so do the rest of the artists releasing theirs on that date. Before anyone forgets, Bo’s first cd was released the same week as Eminem’s and another famous rapper whose name I can’t recall. Bo was no. 4 and that’s not bad at all.
August 20th, 2007 at 8:38 pm
Once I have that CD, I guarantee I will forget all about this waiting. It will totally be worth it. I’m so excited for October 23rd!
August 21st, 2007 at 3:55 am
I’m sooo happy! That is all.

I like the change in CD title and yeah for an official release date. Boo that it’s so far away. Why not use the hype of Carrie’s 2nd CD to get some more attention on Bo’s?
All I know is that I’m ready to go Bicing.
