Bo Bice’s brother/cousin rides coattails to fame

Anyone remember The Goods: The Don Ready Story? It’s been over a year since we reported on the filming of the movie, which uses an imaginary Bo Bice brother as part of the set up.

Guess what - it’s coming out this summer. Here’s an excerpt from an interview with the movie’s star Jeremy Piven in the current issue of Michigan Avenue Magazine.

MA: So what’s the very funny setup in The Goods?
JP: This is very much in the tradition of Will and Adam movies. You’ve got the character Don Ready that I’m playing, who has been on the road his whole life—he’s very content to eat breakfast in strip clubs, sell cars and move to the next town. And he’s living the dream and it all comes crashing in on him during the movie. He hires this renegade group of car salesmen, and they get some celebrity to come onto the lot, to do whatever it takes to move these cars. Unfortunately, that celebrity is Bo Bice’s cousin, who doesn’t show up, and madness ensues.

It’s written and produced in part by Will Farrell, so it may or may not be hilarious. Based on the trailer, I’m guessing not so much. But I bet Bo and his fans will get a kick out of it regardless.

The banner itself is hilarious. Will, Jeremy and the rest of the cast can sign it and give it to Bo as a memento. And next time Bo comes in contact with an intoxicated football player, he has another alias to use . . . “No, I’m Bo’s cousin Eric!”
