Bo gets busy
If you thought that Bo would be spending all his time this week making cute noises at his new baby, you thought wrong. He’s been also been busy making awesome noises for his new album. Bo’s been tweeting about recording sessions, and yesterday he posted a few pictures from the studio at Bobice.com. Looks like he’s been working with bandmates Bart Walker and Matt Ross, Steve Gorman from the Black Crowes (and See The Light), and someone who looks a lot like D. Scott Miller, the guy who produced the Brothers of the Southland album. They look to me like a bunch of guys who are pretty happy with what they just did. I know I’m pretty happy with what they’re doing – I want that album!
Then last night, Bo performed at Oasis Church in Nashville. Forum members who saw the live stream say he told a story that had them all choked up, about telling his parents that he was going to leave his family in England and go back alone to the US when he was just 17.
He said that when he told his parents that he wanted to leave England and go back to the States, they were pissed. His father told him if he left he had to stay in the States for one year. The night before he left, he went into his parents bedroom to say goodnight. His mother had her back to him because she was crying. As Bo turned to leave, his father said, “Remember when I told you if you left you had to stay away for a year?” Bo said, “Yes, sir.” His father said, ” If you decide you want to come home next week, you know you can.” Then Bo went on to say something about that’s what a father does, look out for their children…he also meant Father as in the Lord takes care of you, too.
He followed that up by singing yet another new song about that experience, called You Take Yourself With You. The BFB crowd all thought it was beautiful, but then, they’re easy. The broadcast was recorded – if the video shows up, we’ll let you know.
It seems to me that Bo’s really got it all right now – wonderful family life, rewarding musical life. Now I’m the one feeling a little choked up. Guess I’m easy, too.

We are all easy. Things are going good for Bo right now. Good acoustic run with people raving about his new songs, the baby and now recording the new CD. I hope this CD keeps the good rolling for him in the summer. Bo tweeted today that he loved his job. That made me smile.

I saw the live stream from Oasis last night and, man alive, talk about someone who’s passionate about music, family and his faith! As if the original song and story behind it didn’t already warm my soul, when Bo sang “I Stand in Awe” for his second song? . . . well, I had tears in my eyes and a warm feeling in my heart. That warm feeling continues today, despite the sub-zero weather here, because great things are coming from Bo this year. I can feel it. If Steve Gorman and D. Scott Miller are collaborating with Bo on the new album, well, it’s going to be a very awesome day when that silver disk is released. I predict much love and happiness to come in BoPeep Land!

I’ve always loved Bo’s voice (surprise) but during the acoustic tour it soared and was stronger than ever. His voice soared in that church last night. It truly is amazing.
Good things are happening. Soar, Bo, soar!

I sure hope we all get to hear Bo singing at the oasis. Bo sure seems to be very confident right now, and he’s one happy man. My gut tells me this album is going to be Bo’s breakout album, radio and video play, these songs and his voice are to good to keep hidden.

As fans, we keep finding new reasons to love “our Bo”. He is so appreciative of the blessings in his life, and his humility is just another one of his assets. I can only hope that in 2010, more of the general public will get to see THE REAL BO!

Things seem to be going great for Bolandia. Since I can’t go to any of his shows, it would even be better if only that CYS video will be put out and not just gather mold somewhere. Cheap I may be not. ;)
