Bo makes Billboard’s country chart

You Take Yourself With You has debuted on a Billboard country chart for the first time this week, coming in at #60 on the Country Indicator chart:

60 NEW 1 YOU TAKE YOURSELF WITH YOU Saguaro Road/Lofton Creek Bo Bice 87 +14 0.126

There’s a lot of charts floating around, based on various permutations of radio play, sales, audience size, stations counted, and probably phases of the moon. I can’t tell you what they all mean or which ones or the most significant. I can tell you that the numbers above mean 87 spins, up 14 from last week, and an audience of 126,000. I can tell you that this particular chart is based just on radio play. And I can tell you that just getting on any of the charts is quite an accomplishment for Bo. He’s been humping his guitar and his charm and his sweet ass to radio stations from Florida to California, singing and smiling and handing out cds at stations that care a lot more about influence than they do about music. It’s so very hard to get radio play without a big label to push a song. Congratulations to Bo, his cowriter D. Scott Miller, and to his promotional team. Onward and upward!

It’s really about influence these days not just in music but as it is mostly in life, especially out here. This is sad. But happy for Bo it worked out somehow.
