Blades of Glory
In early 2007, Bo recorded the title track for the Will Ferrell movie, Blades of Glory. According to interviews he gave at the time of the film’s release, Bo was invited to be part of the project by the film’s producer, Ben Stiller, who became a fan when Bo was on Idol.
Ben has excellent taste! Not many vocalists could sing such a cheesy, cliched ballad, with such ludicrous words, and still sound as though they believed every note! The song is intentionally ridiculous on every level - combining the worst of hair band, power ballad song structure with the lyrics worthy of an American Idol coronation song, and yet Bo infuses it with just the right amount of testosterone and macho power vocals.
