Good news for fans of blue-eyed scruffy-haired southern idol boys – Bo Bice and Bucky Covington will be sharing a stage in March:

Country music/Autism Speaks fans: join me March 13 at Margaritaville in Nashville to see Ty Herndon, Bucky Covington, Bo Bice, Mocking Bird Sun, and Katie Chance singing for my favorite cause. Tickets are $5. Bring your friends!!!

There’s no guarantee they’ll do a song together, but here’s hoping – you know these guys are a hoot when they get together.

Bo just knocked it out of the Grand Ole Opry. He started with a favorite from his first album, Valley of Angels, and followed it up with what will likely be the first single from the next one, Everything. Years and genres apart, original vs cover, but they fit together beautifully. Well done, Bo!

Bo started off this week singing the national anthem before the start of the Gator Bowl, and he’ll finish it by taking the stage at the Grand Ole Opry. Nice work if you can get it!

I haven’t found any video of the anthem, but we’ll all be able to listen to the Opry broadcast on Saturday – it streams online and on the radio. Here’s the schedule (central time):

September 27, 2011 – Bo Bice October Dates Canceled Due To Illness

Due to a recurring illness, Bo is currently under medical attention and will have to cancel all appearances and performances until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued support.

Oh no. I’m sure we’re all thinking the same thing – is Bo going through another round of intussussception? I hope it’s nothing so serious.

Bo, everyone at BFB and all of your fans are pulling for you. We love you – get well.

Bo will be fine – he needs to slow down a minute and take care of his health. He appreciates each of you and knows how much you care and support him. He’ll be back soon and be well and rested!! Thank you for your love, support and prayers!

Proceeds from America’s Greatest Picnic will fund a “tour of honor” for 102 Middle Tennessee Veterans to Washington D.C., scheduled for October 12, 2011. Each flight costs approximately $60,000. “Because of the generosity of our sponsors and recording artists like Bo Bice and Martin Ramey who are dedicated to the cause, we can simply come together as a community and enjoy a day in the park to provide the financial support needed to make the flight a reality.”

You may remember that Bo accompanied his grandfather on an Honor Flight last year.
