Farewell Judi
I’m so sad to tell you that yesterday we at BFB lost one of our long-time members and good friends.
jgaines123 (Judi) died in hospital. We do not have too many details but we know that she went in for a routine operation, something went wrong while she was there, and she sadly didn’t make it.
Judi was so kind and sweet to everyone. She and I never met, but I know lots of you knew her. She was a wonderful landscape artist, a generous soul, and a huge fan of Bo’s, who saw him perform live whenever she could and kindly shared her videos with all of us. Judi always went out of her way to help other fans, often making DVDs of videos they couldn’t watch, and recording TV performances to share with those who couldn’t see the shows. In all the time I knew her, I never knew her to have a bad word for anyone.
I know you’ll all join me in sending our most heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. And of course, as her friends, we will all miss her terribly.

I am shocked. I was hoping she can pull it through.
Judi has been very generous of her time and her talent. She will surely be missed. RIP Judi.

I am very sorry to hear this. Condolence to her family and friends on their loss.
Generosity like hers is one of aspects of Bo’s fandom that I remember with warmth in my heart.

I never met Judi but I am one of the many who benefited from her being a member of our BFB family.
The beautiful painting she did of Bo was an indication of her talent. A gift she freely shared will all. She will be missed.

Judi was always there when any of us needed anything – a picture, a video link, a kind word. I had so much fun talking and joking with her during cellcerts. I’ll miss her joy.
My deepest sympathies to her family and all her friends. We will remember her well.

I did have the pleasure of meeting Judi several times, she was quiet and unassuming and had a beautiful smile and quick laugh. The first time was at the first Bessemer show. While we all vied for seats as close to the stage as possible, she sat quite far back. I went up to talk to her and asked if she wanted to get closer. She smiled, shook her head no, and gestured to her camera. Yup, she always brought the goods for her fellow peeps who couldn’t be at the show.
Rest in peace, dear Judi, you will be sorely missed.

She stood behind me in line after the Charlotte show in July 2008. That night she gave Bo her beautiful painting of him. She was so pleased with the painting but concerned because she had a make shift wrapping due to spilling something on the original wrapping.
It did not matter, Bo loved the gift and was so touched. Judi always loved giving and never concerned with what she received in exchange. She had to leave us far too young and she will be missed.

I never “met” Judi, but she would message me about the graphics I’d made, and later, the photos I’d taken. She encouraged me to go as far as I could with it. She will be missed greatly.

I’m so, so sorry to read this. Judi was a fun person, full of life and energy, and I always got a kick out of watching her finagle an ideal spot to videotape shows. Rest in peace Judi.

Judi was a long time BFB family member who will be sorely missed. She was a talented artist and a generous soul who was taken from us much too soon. Rest in peace Judi. My condolences to her friends and family, as well.

I’m so sad to read this today. My condolences to Judi’s family. I never met her, but I certainly “knew” her from her generosity to all of Bo’s fans. She shared her talents and time with us all.
