What the? Hahahaha! I don’t who The Bice Boys are beyond the obvious – a couple of wise asses with time on their hands. But it’s awesomely odd and I love it! Beats the hell out of Pickin’ on Bo Bice, that’s for sure. Warning – one listen and this’ll be stuck in your head the rest of the day.

Bo starts his first run back on the road tonight since the birth of his daughter in April. He’s doing a few solo acoustic shows this week, then a couple of church dates to introduce his upcoming Christian album. He’ll be getting fully up to speed next month, kicking off with several appearances at the CMA Fest in Nashville.

I can’t wait, even though I won’t be seeing any shows. I’ve been pretty antsy for a while – Bo’s been keeping his plans and his music very close to the vest. But once he gets on the road, mingling with fans and doing interviews, he has a tendency to start spilling. C’mon Bo – loosen up those lips!

ETA: Maybe running isn’t the right word. Bobice.com has just pushed back the dates on those church shows to June 21 and 23. So I’ll go back to being antsy for a while longer.

Bo and Caroline welcomed Merrin Elizabeth Joy Bice, on April 23, 2012. Merrin was a healthy 8 lbs 11 oz. Both Mom and baby are doing great! Merrin joins proud big brothers Aidan, Caleb, and Ean.

That Bo nose really runs true, doesn’t it? What a charmer she’s going to be.

Thanks to our very own British repat lulu, we think the title comes from a UK tv show that was popular when Bo lived in England:

For the actual title he intended to use, as a reference to the protagonist’s tax and work-evading lifestyle, Only Fools and Horses. That name was based on a genuine, though very obscure saying, “why do only fools and horses work? (for a living)”, which had its origins in 19th century American vaudeville.

Interesting theme.

BMI doesn’t give any information about when songs are written, but way back in 2009 Bo tweeted about working with Selby and Sillers:

Could Fools and Horses be this great, coffee-sucking tune? And if it is, why is it showing up now? Bo doesn’t seem to worry too much about registering songs until the cd is practically on the shelf. In fact, he’s released songs and never bothered to register them at all. So has he recorded this one? Or is someone else going to cover it?
