Cool, cool, cool! It’s been so quiet, this is really great news - a new single available on Bandbox and a TV appearance. Bo life is good!

Any chance of a video on CMT or GAC, or am I getting ahead of myself?

  2. Jennheifer Says:

You are so far ahead of yourself, I can’t even see you. (But if you find a video out there, bring it back!)

  3. BikerChick Says:

Hey, I’m still searching for a live CD/EP. Have you seen one? ;-)

Yeah, I know, still ahead of myself.

Bo on TV is fantastic news. The Bandbox thing ain’t so bad either. Rock On Bo!

  5. Kendall Says:

The song and ringtone are available for download now.

  6. lulu1001 Says:

    Yeah, but at $5??

  7. newport Says:

    So?

  8. lulu1001 Says:

I’m surprised you’d ask given the reaction on all the forums, but … So if you buy a song from anywhere on the planet, it costs 99 cents to $1.29.

I buy a lot of music online and I’ve never seen anyone charge $5 for one song. The “free” ring tone is meaningless unless you want a ring tone.

  9. Kendall Says:

Honestly, I don’t have a problem with the price, and I think the uproar is kind of silly. After all, how long has it been since there has been a new song from Bo? How long will it be until there are more? I’m not going to get into a tizzy about $5. It’s not like he posted his entire CD and you could only buy each song separately for $5. That would be silly. But one song after all this time isn’t really that big of a deal.
BTW, it’s a pretty good song and IMHO worth the few extra bucks. I burned it on a CD and spent the afternoon driving around in the sunshine with the windows open blasting the song and enjoying it. Can’t say that 5 bucks I spent bothered me one bit.

  10. newport Says:

I agree. The song is great and worth the money. Some people want the ring tone too.

Pricing items is difficult anyway. If it were 99 cents would it really attract that many fans. We really have no way of knowing if it is going to make more money sold at $5, or at $1. Money isn’t the only purpose here, but I trust there was some reason Bo chose to sell it at that price. BFB usually has supported Bo’s decisions. I’m rather surprised they aren’t now. We really don’t KNOW the circumstances. We are just speculating.

  11. Jennheifer Says:

BFB isn’t a monolith. Some members are fine with the price of the single, others think it’s too much. I happen to think he muffed it this time.

Regardless, there’s a big difference between supporting Bo, which we very much do, and agreeing with all of his actions.

I’m glad you think the song is great - I’m looking forward to hearing it.

  12. Wut Says:

Frankly, I don’t understand why anyone would be surprised by a difference of opinion at BFB or somehow expect a group of independent thinkers to ’support’ Bo’s every decision.

I won’t be paying $5 for a song I don’t even like; I doubt I’d pay that much for a song of his that I liked — I’d come away feeling ripped off, and it would take away from my enjoyment of the song. OTOH, I understand that Bo may feel like he has to jack up the price because so few people will buy it, and he’d like to make a profit.

  13. Wut Says:

Oh, Jennheifer, is the song not out yet? I thought it was one of the country sounding ones I used to mute on the bobice.com video.

  14. suedel Says:

I got the song (goodness I typed “dong” first) for $5.00 and didn’t bat an eye. But today I saw that a lot of folks just can’t afford that or won’t pay it because it’s more than what other performers charge for a download. (People with principals are so annoying. ;-)) Anyways, I just want what’s best for Bo, I want everyone to hear and buy this song. I wish they could sell the song for a cheaper price without the ring tone. That might be more attractive to most.

One thing is for sure, Bo is not out to cheat people or make a quick buck, so there must be some reasoning behind it. If someone wants a ring tone and a song, I guess it’s not bad, but a lot of casual fans may just want the song.

  15. newport Says:

Suedel, I think you said the most important thing. Bo is not out to cheat people. There does have to be a reason.

Jennheifer, I have heard the regulars support just about everything Bo has done except this. They have often been a monolith.

  16. newport Says:

So glad they separated the cost of the song and the ringtone for all those concerned. Song now available for $1.95.

  17. lulu1001 Says:

Thanks Bo for listening and making the change. Much appreciated.

  18. DebbieW Says:

Really glad that Bo straightened this out! I never thought he was out to cheat anyone or make a fast profit. I was concerned about anyone who might be interested after the Huckabee performance being turned off by the price.
