Pump Boys postponed

There’s very disappointing news from Broadway today – Pump Boys and Dinettes has been postponed.

Producers Abby Lee, David B. Brode, Lee Seymour, Alec Seymour, Suzanne & Michael H. Moskow and Executive Producer Tom Viertel announced today that the new Broadway production of PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES has postponed its Broadway opening.

“On behalf of my fellow producers and investors, we are all so excited to bring PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES back to Broadway,” producer Abby Lee said. “With the crowded landscape on Broadway this spring, we all agreed that the wise choice was to proceed with a new opening date. We are in the process of determining the updated production schedule and look forward to sharing this wonderful musical with Broadway audiences in the near future.”

Well, damn it all. I can’t even begin to imagine how disappointed Bo must be. He’s been so excited about this opportunity, and he’d cleared his schedule for the rest of the year. I don’t know what he does now.

If that isn’t the pitts. At least it’s not cancelled for good. How disappointing for Bo. There’s always the w. coast.

In other words, there was not much interest in the show, or they would have put it on. You don’t mount a Broadway production and then postpone it, saying that the landscape is crowded. Broadway is always crowded with shows. This seems like another let down for Bo. And to think that he gave up a good gig for this. Sucks.
