What Should Bo Name His Album?
Obviously Bo doesn’t make a move without checking in with BFB, so he’s probably wondering why we haven’t offered suggestions for the new CD title. It’s been a whole day now and nothing – I imagine he keeps logging back on wondering ‘why aren’t they helping me out?’
OK, so I’m full of crap. He never checks in here and he doesn’t need our help. But that doesn’t stop us from talking amongst ourselves, now does it?
I love album titles that come from song lyrics (like Jason Isbell’s “Sirens of the Ditch”) and orginally thought that “Brand New Meaning” (from I’m Gone) would make a great title. But I just saw deefender’s suggestion of “Kickin’ Up the Dust” (from American Blood) and I think that is SO much better!
“See The Light” seems to be a popular choice among our forum members, and some have suggested simply “Bo Bice.” (Chefgirl has some deluded idea about a title involving her, but we usually just smile and nod – it’s kinder that way.)
So what do you think would make a good title?

I’m kind of on board with “Kickin’ Up the Dust”, but since you ask for other suggestions ……. “Break the Ties that Bind” or “Meeting Across the River”.

“Offering”, as in all I have to offer, derivative of “All we have to offer” in AB.
I like one word album titles. It would leave more room for Bo’s picture as well.

I also like the connotations that come with the title “Kickin’ Up the Dust”. It seems to not only show he is taking off drastically in a new direction, but it also relates to the energy level and drive of his new sound!

I like the “Isbellian” idea of using song lyrics for the title. And I love “Kickin’ up the Dust!” That would be excellent!

I listened to some of the songs trying to pick out a phrase, but I really love DeeFender’s idea of “Kickin’ up the Dust” best so far. It’s perfect!

I like simply “Bo Bice”

“Kickin’ up the Dust” does it for me. Way to go DeeFender!

So I went over the lyrics to see what I can come up with. Here goes my list of suggestions, added with some possible reactions. Some are really bad like my flashes of twisted humor:
Picking up the Pieces
Back to My Roots – not from any of the songs
Moving on
Beaking the Ties that Bind – Finally, straight from Bo’s mouth
Ride With Me – Take a number, everyone!
On Track
On Full Speed – Media will have a heyday with this one
With a Bottle and a Bible – And more on this.
Feeling No Pain – Now we’re talking. Bring it on.
Northbound – It’s just north but ThreeD might love this.

“Bo Bice…Kickin’ Up The Dust” is awesome. Not the same old run-of-the-mill poppy songs of the first cd. New direction. New energy. A bit of a rebel. I do think he needs his name on the cover also. Yes, I really like the rebellion sound, like doin’ it my way this time around.

If Bo is listening I like
Bo Bice…Kickin’ Up The Dust. Sounds awesome.
But maybe he will want to use one of his many catch phrases we hear often in his interviews, like “It Truly Is” or “I’m Stoked” lol

I appreciate the kindness. And I will be gracious when the title is announced. ;) There is so much to draw from with the songs we’ve heard – I can’t imagine what other surprises he has left on the album.
I think there is a theme of survival and redemption in a lot of Bo’s music (new and Recipe for Flavor) and that’s why I keep leaning towards the lyrics in STL. Bo himself said he’s never been so proud of something in his life and I think this is a personal triumph for him.

I think Kicking Up the Dust sounds good and I agree that Bo’s name and picture need to be on the cover.

“Kickin’ Up the Dust .BRILLIANT! For every conceivable reason. I hope it’s been suggested over at bb.c (I haven’t checked in there re this).
And a photos of Bo kickin’ some ass (oops….I meant ‘dust” of course, lol) in some FINE looking boots would go down well too. ;-)

I WISH it was still “American Blood,” but since it’s not, I also like some of the following:
1) “Coming Down My Way” (From This Train)
2) ” Running Down Full Speed” (This Train)
3) “Now You Set Me Free” (Witness)
4) “Baby Set Me Free” (Witness)
5) “Waiting To See You Deliver” or “Waiting To See Me Deliver” or just “See Me Deliver” (See the Light – direct quote and then take off’s on that line.)
6). “Break the Ties that Bind” or “Breaking the Ties that BInd. (See the Light)
7. “Come on Down from your fences” or “Coming Down from Fences” or “Crossing Fences” (See the Light – direct quote and then take offs on the quote)
8) ” I Love The Road” (I Love The Road)
9) “Killing Time For A Livin’ “(I Love The Road)
10) “Working Hard at Having Fun” (I Love The Road)
11) “I Ain’t Gonna Die” as a title too. Because it reflects how he’s still out there as an artist also because of all the medical issues we know Bo’s been through. He’s such a strong survior!
12) “Takin’ Anything Thrown At Me” (Similiar line in ‘I Ain’t Gonna Die”)
13) “It’s Only Words”
14) “Penguin w/o a Fur Coat” ;)
I also really like “Kickin’ Up the Dust” too. Esp. since it’s from “American Blood” and that’s my fav. song Bo’s done so far! :)
